Importance of being found!

So many companies still insist on publishing a web site and never ever have it submitted to search engines. Might as well print 500 glossy colour brochures and set fire to them.

I so love to hear:

"but my customers won't buy from me by looking at my website, I
know I just need to have one."
So what's the point?
If people search and find your site, chances are they want your product - they will contact you if not through the lovely contact page you had designed, they will ring from the phone number you placed in an easy to find area on your page.
Example:
I submitted my site to google, created all the bit's and bobs to get a nice high ranking. I got to page one when people searched for 'freelance web design staffordshire' (as I live in Staffordshire and I am a freelance web designer - get it!).
Last week I had three phone calls/emails requesting I give them a visit, all I have to do is turn them into customers. That's what I love about this stuff, I didn't have to trawl through the phone book make lots of expensive cold calls to people "who are not interested" or already have it covered. They looked for me as they needed my services.
Don't loose you potential customers - get found!

Email and the web are the future of print

Remember the days when all you internal forms were printed by your local printer?

Now you just create them internally and print them out to your laser printer, instead of writing a letter you now write an email. Everything is going digital!

I can't remember the last time I sent an invoice in the post, I always send via email - I'm not being tight it's just quicker and if there is a query it can be sorted and re-sent in no time.

I don't send out newsletters by post, I email them and I get to find out who was interested enough to open it and read it!

That's why digital media is now taking over, it cheaper, you can measure results, it's better than chopping down trees and so many more customers can see your message.

I sent out over 1,000 e-flyer's, they went direct to the people I wanted them to go to, no postal cost, no envelopes and I could rate it's success - something I can't accurately measure sending out flyer's in the post or even placing a newspaper advert.
